Albedo was set up in 1997 in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
From the start, the company used high purity silver as conductor in audio cables. Priority in the design process has been to provide outstanding quality of sound for the price which doesn’t outmeasure the quality. Working along this principle in the early stages of the process, we carry out a great number of audio tests in different systems, in various price ranges and wherever possible we seek our clients’ opinion. We strive to bennchmark our products for authenticity of sound, linear characteristics and high detail. For many years, we have tested a number of production methods. We experimented with different insulators, geometry of conductors and even with different kinds of pins and connecting methods. Throughout these trials we were guided by one idea, and that is if something is possible to make, we should do our best to try to make it.
Our efforts have borne fruit in the latest product in our range – VERSUS.
In the production process of VERSUS, silver smelting is carried out in argon shield which prevents silver from oxidation. This is our own technology of very slow mechanical and thermal finishing to preserve inherent conductive quality of silver. Equally important factor in sound emission beside the composition of conductor is its geometry. In our latest products we use conductors in the shape of a ribbon, square or in speaker connector BLUE - round.
The adverse effect of insulation on the transmission of sound was minimalised by using air shielding. In order to secure the cable from mechanical damage, we place it in silicon plasticised polyvinyl chloride and fabric coating. This triple insulation protects the conductor from extreme bending and breaking. Large part of production process from silver finishing through to cable coating is done by hand and under the strictest quality control to ensure our product’s durability.
Recently, our interconnectors from FLAT-ONE to MONOLITH series are finished with RCA silver pins of our own make. Speaker cables are fitted with silver forks or gold plated banana pins.
What sets us above our counterparts in audio cables is the quality of analogue, neutral, spacial and detailed sound. ALBEDO cables due to their tonal balance, are excellent in both tube and transistor audio systems.
